Not to be confused with Nike’s recent Air Max 98 “Habanero Red” model is this new take on the throwback runner, which, too, sports the aforementioned spicy red tone. This new rendition spotlights varying shades of red that surrounds a clean white midsole with an upper construction that is dressed in a mixed-material makeover.
“Team Red” joins the signature Habanero hue all throughout the core base, while faint hits of light grey can be found intersecting the all-red palette in the wavy divider line. Leather found blanketing the mudguard helps add a luxurious element to the suede and mesh accents placed directly above. Price and release date still has yet to be confirmed, so be sure to check back for future updates.
The 20th anniversary of the Nike Air Max 98 this year is bringing a variety of new and OG styles back to life, and the runner’s new take is introduced in this sail/cream theme, but with a luxurious twist. A snakeskin mudguard overlay highlights the design, along with a sepia stone accent seen throughout the upper. White mesh and nubuck add on to the build, followed by a matching Air Max sole to complete its design altogether.
Back in the middle of March, we introduced you to four new versions of the Nike Air Max 98 silhouette, including the Sepia Stone-colored “Snakeskin” variety that you see here. Ushering in a simplistic color scheme, its namesake comes from the scaly make-up that you see on its mudguard. Snakeskin has dressed up this particular silhouette in Nike’s arsenal in the past, as it highlighted 2016′s four-piece Supreme collection in another “Sail” color scheme. This time around, the reptile print is much more subtle than the aforementioned Supreme partnership, but it still adds a touch of luxury to the increasingly popular Air Max model.
